सुप्रीम कोर्ट में अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश सहित प्रत्येक जज को सहवर्ती स्टाफ के रूप में 11 कर्मी प्रदान किये जाते हैं. इनमे 01 वैयक्तिक सचिव, 02 वरिष्ठ वैयक्तिक सहायक, 01 चालाक, 01 प्रवेशक तथा 06 कनिष्ठ कोर्ट परिचारक शामिल हैं. यह जानकारी सुप्रीम कोर्ट के जन सूचना अधिकारी अजय अग्रवाल द्वारा लखनऊ स्थित एक्टिविस्ट डॉ नूतन ठाकुर को दी गयी सूचना से सामने आई है.
जन सूचना अधिकारी ने प्रत्येक जज के साथ लगाये जाने वाले सुरक्षाकर्मियों की सूचना आरटीआई एक्ट की धारा 8(1)(जी), जो व्यक्ति के जीवन तथा सुरक्षा से संबंधित है, में देय नहीं होने की बात कहते हुए देने से मना कर दिया. जन सूचना अधिकारी ने यह भी बताया कि सेवानिवृत होने के बाद सुप्रीम कोर्ट के जजों को किसी प्रकार के सरकारी स्टाफ नहीं प्रदान किये जाते हैं.
RTI: 11 personnel to each Supreme Court Judge
During his tenure in the Office of Supreme Court, every Judge, including the Chief Justice of India, is provided 11 persons as support staff. They include 01 Personal Secretary, 02 Senior Personal Assistant, 01 chauffer, 01 Usher and 06 Junior Court attendants.
This fact has emerged from the information provided by Ajay Agrawal, Public Information Officer (PIO) of Supreme Court of India to Lucknow based activist Dr Nutan Thakur.
The PIO refused to provide the information related to security persons assigned to each Judge, calling it exempt information under section 8(1)(g) of RTI Act which is related with life and personal security of persons. The PIO also told that no government staff is provided to retired Judges and Chief Justices of Supreme Court.
