BARC Ratings: CNN-News18 continues its dominance in English news genre with 43.1% market share
All India 2+ – CNN News18 is 146% ahead of Times Now
New Delhi | 2 February, 2023: As per the latest data released by the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), CNN–News18 has again topped English news genre with 43.1% market share in India’s TG 2+ segment. As per the data, the channel is 146% ahead of Times Now and its market share is bigger than that of Times Now and Republic TV combined.
CNN-News18 outperformed top news channels such as Republic TV, Times Now, Mirror Now, India Today TV and others with a market share of 43.1% (BARC; market share% 24 hrs, TG: 2+, India, Wk 04’23, All days).The market share of Republic TV stood at 23.5%, whereas the market share of Times Now was at 17.5%, Mirror Now stood at 11.0% and India Today TV at 4.8%.
The channel also remained ahead of its competition during the coveted prime time hours.
2+ Prime Time – CNN News18 is 124% ahead of Times Now
As per the BARC ratings, (BARC; market share% 1800- 2300 hrs, TG: 2+, India, Wk 04’23, All days) CNN-News18 is 124% ahead of Times Now as it secured 38.4% market share, followed by Republic TV with 27.5% market share, whereas Times Now stayed behind at 17.2%.
CNN-News18 has been the industry leader since the resumption of BARC’s viewership data in March of 2022 and has consistently outperformed its competitors.
