: FIR against ASSOCHAM Officers : New Delhi 31st May: An event company Showmaker\u2019s Managing Director Santosh Kumar \u2018Saras\u2019 has lodged a FIR against the top officers of ASSOCHAM, an apex body to promote business in India and in abroad. FIR has been lodged in Greater Kailash Police Station against Mr. D.S. Rawat (General Secretary ASSOCHAM), Mr. S.S. Chawla (Senior Director, ASSOCHAM) and one more unidentified officer.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
In the complaint it is allegedly said that Mr. Rawat and Mr. Chawla have mis-behaved with Mr. Santosh Kumar in their office and pushed him violently to throw out of their office when the complainant went to collect his payment. However, Showmaker is an event company and Marketing Associate of ASSOCHAM for stall booking in 7th ASSOCHAM International Education Fair-2011. According to the MOU between both the companies, ASSOCHAM is liable to pay the said service charges of Rs.1,78,115 to Showmaker.<\/p>\n
The bill for the same was raised by Showmaker on 4th May2011 but when Mr. Santosh reached ASSOCHAM to collect his payment he was said to talk to Mr. Rawat regarding the payment by Mr. Chawla. Mr. Kumar kept waiting for two hours in front of General Secretary\u2019s room after informing his Personal Secretary. But after two-three reminders Mr. Rawat called Mr.Santosh in his cabin and said, \u201cI am not satisfied with your work so we will not pay anything to you, do whatever you want.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr. Santosh tried to put his point in front of him but General Secretary refused to listen and said, \u201cI have no time to listen these things, you get out of my cabin else I will ask the guards to throw you out.\u201d Then he called Mr. Chawla and two more officers and ordered them to throw Mr. Kumar out of his cabin. These three officers overpowered Mr. Kumar, misbehaved and pushed him violently and used abusive language for him.<\/p>\n
After thrown out, Mr. Kumar called police PCR for help and lodged a FIR (no. 67\/11) under IPC 323, 341, 506 & 34. As we are told one more case has been filed against these officers in G.K. police station charging physical harassment to their own woman employee, a couple of months back.
