Dear all, Following our protest March on Monday to arrest the killers of our esteemed colleague J Dey, the Maharashtra government assured to accept our demand to bring in a law to protect journalists although it refused to hand over the probe to CBI. The Chief Minister also refused to consider our demand for resignation of home minister R R Patil and suspension of the city Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
In view of our pending demands, the Patrakar Halla Virodhi Kruti Samiti has decided to continue the agitation by resorting to relay hunger strike from Wednesday, June 15, 2011. Journalists will sit on a chain hunger strike in the compound of Marathi Patrakar Bhavan, Azad Maidan. The hunger strike will commence from 9 am. All are requested to participate.<\/p>\n
