It is my pleasure to welcome on board Shishir Gupta\u00a0 who joins us today as\u00a0 Deputy Executive Editor, HT.<\/p>\n

Shishir has 19 years of experience. He started his journalistic career\u00a0 with Indian Express in 1992, where he worked for 4 years before joining\u00a0 Hindustan Times. He was with HT for 5 years between 1996 – 2001, after which he moved to India Today. His last assignment was with Indian Express, where he was Editor, Express New Service since 2006. He also headed the National Bureau (Both Political & Business) at Express for 3\u00a0 years.<\/p>\n

He is the author of the book, “Indian Mujahideen – Enemy Within”, and a\u00a0 member of the International Institute of Strategic Studies, London. Shishir is a postgraduate from Delhi University.\u00a0 He is married to Shailja, a doctor, and they have two children.<\/p>\n

At HT, Shishir will be working on special stories out of Delhi as well as\u00a0 other centres. He will also be contributing to our digital properties.\u00a0 Shishir will report to me but work closely with the Delhi Resident Editor,\u00a0 Sudeep Mukhia. He will also be a resource for our bureaus to draw upon.<\/p>\n
