National Media Black-out of Bareilly violence : <\/font>Yashwant ji namaste, as you know Bareilly is under curfew since tuesday. reason communal violence. the point that want to bring to your notice is that national media has completely blacked out this news. i dont watch TV but my friends tell me that there has not been enough coverage of this crisis. on tuesday IndiaTV and ETV(?) showed small report and then, i am sure, there have been no follow-ups. The silence is mysterious. it may be that from their point of view this news is not worthy of being shown but than for us it is very important. local media has hinted that it knows who the real culprits are but it has its own limitations. the national media can take more liberty in such matters as it is more free from pressures of local administration and state government.<\/p>\n

what disturbed me today is that, when i called two of\u00a0 my friends who live in purana shahar, a muslim area, they were very worried. i asked what is the matter and one of them said that there are PAC men in the mohalla near the mosque. and…….. i knew why he was disturbed. i asked him to come to my house for stay if he feels uneasy there.<\/p>\n

the blackout by national media in this age of communications has created a fear psychosis. we are totally dependent on news papers and for them we have to wait until morning or we have to rely on mobiles most of what that is discussed on mobile is rumor.<\/p>\n

its 11:33 PM now my friend had called me again at 11 and i could sense the shakiness in his voice. there have been incidents at some places where PAC has acted bad, as i have heard dunno if it is tru or not. but….<\/p>\n

i ask you to write abot this problem and the possible reasons of this blackout by national media. i think this problem is more important to be discussed than the news about sex tapes of some baba or sex racket of some baba.<\/p>\n

it is possible that i may not have expressed myslf clearly, but i think is enough to make my point.<\/p>\n
