At the outset the UNI Workers Union Delhi, condemns the action of calling police into the campus to intimidate the staff members sitting on a peaceful Dharana protesting against perpetual and inordinate delay in disbursement of salaries.<\/p>\n
The Union is of the view that it is none other than the management that mandated to call the police in the office campus. And as the police entered the premises today ( May 11, 2010), the management can\u2019t deny its role.<\/p>\n
Moreover the styles of functioning of the management for past one and half year affirm our instant view of not taking \u201cdenial\u201d on face value.We therefore, demand the management to own its responsibility of calling police or prove otherwise.<\/p>\n
We would like to put the management\u2019s assurance given to employees on record that \u201cnow onwards every staff members of UNI, irrespective of his or her place of posting, will get at least one salary at the interval of every 30 days. Also the earlier practice of segregation between the non journalists and journalists in the matter of salary disbursement at the agency headquarters will cease to exit.\u201d<\/p>\n
We would like to caution the management to stick to its public commitment; otherwise it will attract the wrath of the employees.<\/p>\n
