\t: 46 Alumni Authors Honoured at Annual Alumni Meet<\/span> : New Delhi, 17th February 2014: The Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association (IIMCAA) felicitated their eminent alumni authors, who have written books on different subjects and received various awards, at their annual alumni meet – ‘SBI Life Connections 2014’ held at IIMC campus in New Delhi on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\tIndia’s oldest and the best mass communication institute has produced many renowned media persons and communication gurus in different fields. The institute’s Alumni Association has members all over the country and has chapters in all states. IIMCAA also has chapters in foreign countries like – the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Australia and Singapore. It was a confluence of professionals across the communication industry which includes Print and Electronic Media, PR, Advertising, corporate comm etc.<\/p>\n

\tOn this year’s alumni meet, the IIMCAA honoured alumni, who have done outstanding work on writing, editing and translating books, under the theme – ‘Campus Wale Writers’. Alumnus & actress Hasleen Kaur also came for the meet; she and music director Mithoon Sharma were also felicitated on the stage. Around 800 alumni from all corners of the country attended the event.<\/p>\n

\tIIMC Alumni Association also felicitated Mr. Laxman Rao, a tea seller at Vishnu Digaambar Marg, who has written more than 30 books on various issues in our society. Mr. Rao is very popular among journalists from various media houses at BSZ Marg, Delhi’s Fleet Street.<\/p>\n

\tApurva Chamaria, Convenor of the ‘SBI Life Connections 2014’ addressed the gathering by saying: "IIMC alumni association with a reach of 2000+ has made rapid strides in the last 2 years and now has local chapters globally emerging as the unifying body for alumni of one of the world's best mass communication colleges. I'm delighted that this year’s global alumni meet has found fantastic backing from sponsors as we gather to celebrate and recognise 46 IIMCians who have gone on to become authors."<\/p>\n

\tThe event was started with welcome dance performance by current batch and felicitation ceremony. Suddenly the flow was broken by a Flash Mob, which made everybody danced in the Auditorium. This sudden and surprise performance moved everybody at their seats. After the felicitation ceremony, all alumni signed-off the grand meet with dinner and DJ – ‘Tum Hi Ho Night’.<\/p>\n

\tThe IIMCAA alumni meet was supported by SBI Life, IFFCO, HCL, Coca-Cola, India News, Fever 104 FM & Graphisads.<\/p>\n
