: Nine-part series- \u2018Sapne Surile Sapne\u2019 set to telecast on DD National<\/strong> : New Delhi ,: DDK Delhi in association with the Directorate of Film Festivals had organized an invited audience programme \u201dSAPNE SURILE SAPNE\u201d\u00a0 as a tribute to the legendary singer Mukesh, on 5th July, 2015. It has been decided, now, to telecast the show in nine-part series, starting from 21st July 2015. The show will be telecast on DD National at 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, except on Saturdays and Sundays. It is also scheduled to telecast on DD Bharati at 10:00 pm, same day.<\/p>\n

The programme on 5th July 2015 at Siri Fort was attended by Chairman, Prasar Bharati, Secretary, Information & Broadcasting, Justice A.P. Shah, Shri Nitin Mukesh, son of Mukesh and leading play back singer Manhar Udhas and other notable guests.\u00a0 Shri Nitin Mukesh and Manhar Udhas rendered selective songs of Mukesh on the stage.\u00a0 The selected singers performed with great enthusiasm and thoroughly entertained the audience. <\/p>\n

Selection of participants for the show was done by auditions after wide publicity on Doordarshan. Hundreds of people from different parts of the country came to Doordarshan Delhi\u2019s studios at Mandi House to participate in the auditions and the shows had packed audiences. The aspirants included all strata of people from painters to vegetable sellers and from tea vendors to rickshaw pullers.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

The auditions were judged by an eminent panel of judges, such as Muktesh Chander, Special Commissioner of Traffic, Delhi Police who is an established and highly talented flautist, well known Ghazal singer and composer, Jitender Singh, Sufi Singer Mahendra Pal and semi classical singer, Pradeep Pallavi including others.\u00a0 The Orchestra for the programme series was Do-Re- Me- Orchestra, by Satish Popli.\u00a0 Doordarshan Delhi also utilized the services and expertise of singer, Shri Gururaj from Bangalore who has been helping to coordinate and manage the orchestra for the Delhi shows on the lines of the shows done in DDK Bangalore. <\/p>\n

The musical tribute was inaugurated by the popular playback singer Manhar Udhas along with Nitin and Namrata\u00a0 Mukesh , the son and daughter of Mukesh . Union Minister for Law and Justice D.V. Sadananda Gowda, and Justice A.P. Shah, Chairman of the Law Commission of India was the special guests for the evening along with Chief Guests, Dr Surya Prakash, Chairman, Prasar Bharati, Bimal Julka, Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and Satish Upadhyaya, Delhi ,BJP President.\u00a0\u00a0 Former Test cricketer and legendary leg spinner, B.S. Chandrashekar, who is an ardent Mukesh fan was the Guest of Honour along with Dr Rajeev Shrivastav , biographer of Mukesh and DG Doordarshan, C.Lalrosanga. Two of the Guests of Honour, B.D. Sharma, Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal and OP Singh, Director General, NDRF, added colours to the evening by singing Mukesh songs, while Special Commissioner, Delhi Traffic, Muktesh Chander, who is a renowned flautist, enthralled the audience with his flute.<\/p>\n

The first programme in the musical tribute series produced by Delhi Doordarshan was\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cTum Mujhe Yun Bhul Na Paoge\u201d on the legendary Mohd. Rafi and was recorded in FICCI auditorium on 26th July 2014. This was followed by \u201cSmarananjali\u201d, a special musical tribute to our Martyrs on 30th September 2014 at the Siri Fort Auditorium.\u00a0 \u201cGaate Raha Mera Dil\u201d dedicated to the Kishore Kumar was then organized at the Manekshaw Auditorium, Delhi Cantt on 30th November 2014. This was followed by \u201cTujhko Chalna Hoga\u201d, a tribute show for Manna Dey which was held at Siri Fort Auditorium on 12th April 2015. <\/p>\n

Doordarshan Kendra Delhi has been planning and recording musical evenings and telecasting them as a series coinciding with important dates in the life of music legends. The programmes are being produced in fulfilment of Doordarshan\u2019s role as a Public Service Broadcaster and in order to improve its image, encourage new talent, strengthen Doordarshan\u2019s viewership base. These efforts are part of Delhi Doordarshan\u2019s strategy to reach out to the people, provide them a platform to showcase their talent and to make Doordarshan, one of the most sought after channels in the country.<\/p>\n

The idea for these shows emanated from DDK Bangalore\u2019s highly popular and successful music show series \u201cMadura Madura Vee Manjula Gana\u201d and is the brain child of Doordarshan\u2019s Additional Director General, Nadoja Dr. Mahesh Joshi.\u00a0 All the programmes organized in Delhi have received wide response from people from different walks of life. Nadoja Dr Mahesh Joshi feels that in today\u2019s changed scenario, where the public have more than 500 channels to choose from, special efforts are required from Doordarshan to remain in the people\u2019s hearts. He believes Doordarshan has to become Samik Darshan and reach out to the hearts and minds of people.<\/p>\n
