Delhi : Naujawan Bharat sabha organized a protest demonstration today at the Haryana Bhawan condemning the brutal lathicharge at the guest teachers in Haryana on 17 at the behest of Khattar government. It should be noted that the Guest teachers association had been protesting outside the Chief Minsiter’s (Haryana) residence and demanding that the imcumbent government fulfil its electoral promises since 8 May.
But the Khattar government didn’t pay any heed to the teachers and instead ordered the Haryana Police and the R.A.F to open a lathicharge on the protesting teachers. The government which on one hand launches ‘Beti padhao, Beti Bachao’ campaign doesn’t even spare women teachers and children in the gathering. The police brazenly charged at the women teachers and brutally beat them. Several Rounds of tear gas shells were fired at the protestors and water cannon was also deployed at them. As if this wasn’t enough the Police specifically targeted the women teachers and harassed them. Several people were seriously injured, many sustained head injuires and fractures.
A few protesting teachers were arrested by the police. Addressing the gathering at the Haryana Bhawan Sunny from Naujawan Bharat sabha said that the true character of Modi-Khatter government which came into power promising ‘acche din’ stands exposed in the public, these ‘acche din’ have come only for the capitalists and industrialists. When the common man raises his voice for his rights he is lathicharged at, Naujawan Bharat sabha strongly condemns this brutal lathicharge. Gajendra from Citizens forum in support of workers struggles said that the Khattar government should apologise to the people for this shameful act.
