Legendary ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh has conferred his mellifluous voice to the title track of “Gandhi –A Journey of Mahatma” on June 21, 2011 at Kailasha recording studio, Andheri-(W), Mumbai. The title song “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram…’’ is none other than one of the famous bhajans of Mahatma Gandhi, said Rabi Dey music director of the mega serial.
After singing the title song, the ace ghazal king (Jagjit Singhji) was so happy and overwhelmed over the historical subject that he refused to accept any fee for his rendition… and may be… by way of doing so he paid his tribute and due respect to M. K. Gandhi –the visionary and revolutionary of 20th century of India.
Being directed by Ashwini Sharma, “Gandhi – A Journey of Mahatma” is outcome of 15 years’ extensive & rigorous research conducted by Dr. Rajendra Upadhyay and Ashwini Sharma. “Gandhi –A Journey of Mahatma” a mega tele series is being produced by Pancham Singh under the banner of “Indian Cinephile production” and presented by K. Sera Sera production. Chintan Patel is associate producer. The hunt for the perfect face for Gandhi and other important characters is underway.
