Rajbir Deswal’s ‘Barishen Girti Rahin’ launched at World Book Fair

New Delhi : IPS officer Rajbir Deswal is on cloud nine, as his ninth book, Barishen Girti Rahin published by Books For All was launched today by Navin Jindal, MP from Haryana at World Book Fair – 2012, in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The book Barishen Girti Rahin is a compilation of his ideologies and pro-active thoughts in a poetic form. Speaking on the occasion Navin Jindal said, “Rajbir Deswal is one among those few personalities who try to make a difference with their literary work. Words always leave a strong impact and nothing better works more than poems and books to bring in a change in the working of the system. We always wish to bring change in the society and I am glad Rajbir is working towards it.”

Deswal has eight books to his credit, including Wit and Humour of Haryana, Culture-Bright and Dark, Hoor Menaka, Latke Jhatke and My Own Khajuraho. Including prestigious Haryana Sahitya Akademi Pandit Lakmi Chand Award, he has received wide acclaim and recognition for his works. He tries to promote Haryana culture through his work. “It is the encouragement and love of my readers that raised me to this occasion. I just go with the flow. I write what I think; bizarre, weird thoughts always provoke me.  My early stint in journalism helped me curb to groom my writing skills. This book is very dear to me as it compiles the journey from my first book Taron ke Jungle to now,” said Rajbir Deswal.

Taron ke Jungle is an anthology of 23 poems scripted was inspired by Atal Behari Bajpayee’s “Meri ekavan kavitayen”. While Holypol a compilation of his middles, has been published at prime space in national dailies like The Tribune, Hindustan Times, The Indian Express and The Pioneer. Apart from being a passionate writer, he is also a recipient of President of India’s Police Medal for meritorious services. This year World Book Fair is hosting 1,300 exhibitors in 2,500 kiosks in 10 halls at the Pragati Maidan venue spread over 45,000 square metres.
