Assam Photo Journalists’ Association (APJA) in association with Oil India Ltd. is organizing a five day long photo exhibition “Dr. Bhupen Hazarika in Images” to pay homage to Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, a person who became an icon and an institution in itself and needs no introduction for the people of India. Throughout his life, Dr. Hazarika was seen in different fields playing variegated roles which included a legislator, a writer, composer, singer, director, producer or a father or a friend and many others but above all an excellent human being. All these aspects of his life have been captured by various photographers at different times and places.
The contributions from the public will be displayed with full credits to the photographer or the person giving the photographs for this exhibition. The photographs can be emailed to [email protected] giving details about the photograph and the details of the photographer including contact number etc. The photographs can also be given personally to the organizing committee at the Guwahati Press Club, Ambari premises after obtaining a receipt for the same. After scanning the photographs, the originals will be returned to the rightful owners.
The APJA will take full responsibility for the safe upkeep of the photographs and will have the right to use the same for the exhibition and also for a proposed coffee-table book to be published with these photographs for making a permanent homage to the great master after the exhibition. The last date for submitting the photographs is May 2nd2012 . The photographs should be limited to his life span only.
