Jagdish Singh : Let’s think about our cultural shortcomings… Roland is a six year old sweet, little boy in our neighborhood. Two days back, I saw him and both of his parents, standing on the door of our Korean neighbors, talking to them for around half an hour. I thought, they are complaining about some bad behavior of Korean girl with their son.
Next day, I was amazed to know that, Roland had spoken some small, innocent lie to the Korean girl. Knowing this, his parents went to the neighbors to say that they are ashamed of their son, telling a lie. They expressed profuse apologies and made Roland say sorry repeatedly. They wanted to ensue that Roland never tells a lie again in his life.
Contrast this with our own behavior. We tell innocent minds that there used to be a cow boy, who used to steal “makhan” as a matter of habit and used to lie profusely to her mother and victims of theft. When he grew big, he started stealing clothes of village girls taking bath in Yamuna and used to return their clothes, only when they came out of water, fully naked and exposed and didn’t allow them to cover their breasts and genitals, even with their own hands. He used to sleep with countless ladies in his neighborhood.
And this man of lies, deciete, theft and promiscuity is a Bhagwan. We call his utmost shamelessly bad behavior just acts of “leela”.
Think, and have courage to reject this rotten mindset.
