The Indian Women’s Press Corps strongly condemns the attacks on journalists carried out at the North Campus. It is deeply concerned over the fact the media persons doing their duty in reporting events were singled out and attacked by the police.

We demand that an official enquiry be instituted to probe the incident and ensure that those responsible are identified and punished.

It has been just a year since journalists were assaulted by lawyers at the Patiala house courts. We are pained that a similar incident has now taken place in the Delhi University. We urge the authorities to ensure that such incidents do not recur in future.
