The last doyen of a Hindi journalism

I was aghast. I felt a lump in my throat when I went through the news published in Patna edition of Dainik Hindustan on 6th November about the sad demise of noted journalist Prabhash Joshi. Dainik Hindustan was the only newspapers which carried  the obituary of early demise of Prabhash Joshi Ji on front page without any bias. No other newspapers in Patna shown wild courtesy to publish the news of sudden demise of Prabhash Ji on 6th November. It was a sheer apathy or the great negligence towards Prabhas Ji’s departed soul or the other compulsion only such newspapers know. But it is true that the last doyen of Hindi journalism Parbhash Joshi has gone forever.  After his untimely demise I am very sad. I never met him personally. I watched him on different TV news channel during and after the parliamentary elections as a political analyst. His deep rooted political analytical approach, his histrionics and gesticulation differentiate him from others Editors.

His deep rooted political analytical approach, his histrionics and gesticulation differentiate him from others Editors.

His pungent and caustic remarks against corrupt system, society, top politicians and media shows that he never pawn his pen to other wishes. He was indeed a true journalist. His  rustic style statement (as I always watched him clad in a dhoti-kurta) reminds me of a old doting grandfather who attentively keep vigil on the every activity of a family. I am writing this just because I wrote my article in bhadas4media titled : ”Stop package selling in media” in which I asked yashwant Ji to have a nice conversation with Prabhash Joshi Ji to form an organization for curbing the malpractices of package selling in media. I was hopeful but I never imagined that Prabhash Ji will leave for heavenly abode.

Now who will fight for the cause of  journalistic ethics. Who will fight against package selling in media. Who will fill the blank page with “kagad kaare”. The legend has gone. His memory has left to nurture with. The last guardian of a family has gone. But he has left his legacy. His courage. His ethics. His moral. His honesty. His sermons. Any takers.
