The Editors Guild of India on Friday favoured keeping the media out of the purview of the proposed anti-corruption watchdog, the Lokpal. A three-member team of the apex body of editors, which appeared before the parliamentary panel examining the Lokpal bill, stated that media in the country was broadly a "private body" and could not be covered by the anti-corruption watchdog.
