दिल्ली पुलिस ने एक पत्रकार पर दुष्कर्म के प्रयास, छेड़खानी और हमला करने के सात साल पुराने मामले में एफआईआर दर्ज किया है. उक्त पत्रकार के खिलाफ एक महिला पत्रकार ने ही 2006 में पुलिस से शिकायत की थी. महिला पत्रकार का आरोप था कि उक्त पत्रकार जनवरी 2006 में कार्यालय के काम से अपने घर पर बुलाया था. अपने घर पर ही पत्रकार ने उसके साथ बलात्कार करने की कोशिश की थी.
हालांकि उसकी शिकायत के बाद भी तब पुलिस ने कोई कार्रवाई नहीं की थी. इसके बाद वो कई वरिष्ठों से अपनी शिकायत की लेकिन कहीं सुनवाई नहीं हुई. अंत में जब उसने दिल्ली के लेफ्टीनेंट गवर्नर के आफिस में एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी से शिकायत की तब जाकर उसका मामला दर्ज हुआ. नीचे द हिंदू में प्रकाशित पूरी खबर…
A journalist has been booked by the Delhi Police for allegedly attempting to rape, molest and physically assault a woman journalist more than seven years ago. The complainant, who works with a vernacular newspaper, alleged that the accused called her to his residence in New Delhi on the pretext of some professional work and then attempted to rape her. In January 2006, when she had gone to cover an event, the accused confronted her at Kamani Auditorium. He then allegedly assaulted her.
The victim then called up the Police Control Room seeking help. “I lodged a complaint with the then Deputy Commissioner of Police, but no action was taken. A senior government official also wrote to the authorities to investigating the case. Then I wrote to all the authorities and kept knocking their doors, but nothing was done. I recently contacted a senior official in the Delhi Lieutenant-Governor’s office on whose instructions, the case was finally registered last month,” said the victim.
However, the victim complained that the police had not arrested the accused in the case and that she had been receiving veiled threats from unknown persons.
