: UGC inspection on 9/10 January 2014 and anomalies in Makhanlal University Bhopal : It clearly shows that Makhanlal Chaturvedi Patrakarita University at Bhopal is not running well and at the time of Mr. Kuthiala as VC (2010-14) it has lost all its image, credibility, work culture, standard and growth . The shortage of faculty (1 professor, 2 readers/ associate professor, 4 assistant professors) is there as not a single department is filled with these positions.
During the UGC visit, Mr. Amitabh Bhatnagar was shown in Management department as Professor ( who was in deputation from an institute not related with academics) and his appointment/ deputation is challenged by me in Jabalpur high Court. I came to know that he was continued till yesterday (on the second day of UGC team's visit) so that they may show him as Professor of management and today he has been sent back to his parent institute.
99% students of this University (including all its study center) belong to Computer and management discipline where as only 1% from Journalism and Mass Communication for which this University was established.
After the new guidelines no University can run its courses in another state where as Makhanlal Chaturvedi University, Bhopal (MP) is running its center at Noida (UP) and Mr. Kuthiala was desperately making efforts to invest Rs. 10 Crore plus money in buying a campus/ infrastructure there but was not successful.
Prior to UGC team's visit i wrote to some of the authorities in UGC, expert members to apprise them situation of the said University. I have opposed many appointments made in the time of Mr. Kuthiala and there are many persons who are not eligible but were selected by him including Director (Production) Mr. Ashish Joshi.
I have also information that one Associate and one Assistant Professor have been wrongly selected (in recent interviews) and they are waiting for University General Body's next meeting so that the envelops be opened and may join instantly.
Apart from these appointments, three more Associate Professors are wrongly appointed and it will be challenged at appropriate level/ time. I request UGC authorities to kindly take note before giving any assistance/ recognition/ affiliation/ status.
