: सप्रंग अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी के आवास के सामने भी 16 मई को देंगे धरना : सुप्रीम कोर्ट में मजीठिया वेज बोर्ड पर फाइनल फैसला सुनाए जाने में हो रही अनावश्यक देरी से पत्रकार तथा गैर पत्रकार कर्मचारी नाराज हैं. इस साल 5 फरवरी से चल रही फाइनल सुनवाई में अब तक फैसला न होने तथा इसकी सुनवाई 9 जुलाई को टलने से आक्रोशित मीडियाकर्मी अब प्रदर्शन की तैयारी कर रही हैं. कई समूहों का एका संगठन सीएनएनएईओ (कनफेडरेशन और न्यूज पेपर्स एंड न्यूज एजेंसीज एम्पलाई ऑफ ऑर्गेनाइजेशन) ने एक मीटिंग में इसका निर्णय लिया है.
सीएनएनएईओ की मीटिंग में पत्रकार तथा गैर पत्रकार कर्मचारियों ने निर्णय लिया है कि वे मजीठिया वेज बोर्ड की सुनवाई में हो रही अनावश्यक देरी के विरोध में आगामी आठ मई को देशव्यापी प्रदर्शन करेंगे. दिल्ली में भी बहादुर शाह जफर मार्ग पर प्रदर्शन किया जाएगा. फेडरेशन से जुड़े मीडियाकर्मियों ने निर्णय लिया है कि 16 मई को बहादुर शाह जफर मार्ग पर प्रदर्शन करने के बाद वे कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी के सरकारी आवास दस जनपथ के सामने धरना देंगे.

Newspapers, News Agencies employees to demonstrate on May 8
New Delhi : An apex organisation of newspapers and news agencies employees today decided to hold country-wide demonstrations on May eight against the “inordinate delay” in the implementation of the Majithia Wageboard award for journalists and non-journalists.
At an emergency meeting of the Confederation of Newspapers and News Agencies Employees of Organisation (CNNAEO) held here, it was decided unanimously that the workers of the newspaper industries and news agencies would hold a demonstration in the press area at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and march to Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s residence on May 16 in the forenoon.
CNNEAO General Secretary M S Yadav said there was resentment among thousands of journalists and non-journalists with the non-implementation of the Wage boards even though there was no stay by the apex court where the managements of the newspapers have challenged the wageboards award.
Earlier, senior advocate of the Supreme Court Colin Gonsalves, representing the CNNAEO, briefed the Confederation members about the court procedures regarding the case and said “this is an historic case” for which the date of next hearing has been listed for July nine.
Among those who attended the meeting included N K Tirkha and Rajendra Prabhu of National Union of Journalists (I), Madan Talwar and Madan Singh of All India Newspapers Employees Federations, C K Naidu of Indian Express, Suresh Akhouri and Madan Singh (IJU), S K Pandey (DUJ), Pramanand Pandey of IFWJ M L Joshi (UNI) and Rajbir Singh and K S Shankar of PTI Workers Unions. Majithia Wage board final hearing on July 9
The Supreme Court on Tuesday posted for final hearing on July 9, a batch of petitions filed by newspaper managements challenging the Justice Majithia wage board recommendations for journalists and non-journalists.
A Bench of Justices Aftab Alam and Ranjana Desai started hearing the matter from February 5 and it went on for more than two weeks, but the final hearing could not be concluded as Justice Alam, who was presiding over the ‘Forest Bench’, took up certain important matters in March.
During the resumed hearing on Tuesday, Justice Alam, who is retiring on April 18, told counsel for the parties that he would not be able to take up the matter. The Bench posted the matter for fresh hearing on July 9 by another Bench to be finalised by the Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir. (द हिंदू)
