Lucknow: Pardaphash has always been the torch bearer in unearthing scams from the various government departments in the Uttar Pradesh state. Practicing investigative journalism and standing true to the journalistic ethics has never been a cake walk as the unkind souls leave no stone unturned to create hindrances through verbal spats or by being violent. The same has been once again suffered by two Pardaphash team members, who were attacked by the goons of corrupt BN Tewari, who is the owner Mars Farm Equipments ltd., for uncovering the fraud cooked by its firm worth several of crores.
Pardaphash team members Gagan Deep Mishra (Reporter) and Shailendra Sharma (Cameraman) were brutally beaten by 5 to 6 assailants in front of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) campus in Indra Nagar, Lucknow at around 10.30 pm on Sunday.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in the Ghazipur Police Station under the sections 323, 304 and 427 of the Indian Panel Code (IPC).
Both Gagan and Shailendra were on their way to cover a news when a White colored Fortuner over took their bike and stopped just in front of them blocking their way. Five to six people got down from the vehicle, which has the number starting with HR, started hitting Gagan with batons. When Shailendra intervened, they first broke his camera and even went violent over him.
They even threatened both of dire consequences if they cover any story on BN Tewari or reported the complete incident to police. They abused both and even threatened of their life.
Gagan faced major injuries as his leg got fractured and even suffered critical knee wounds.
