: Who says politicians sons are ‘Nalayak’ – Paswan Sr. : New Delhi : Fresh from the success of his debut movie, 'Mile Na Mile Hum’, Chirag Paswan has no plan to join politics, the world of his father, Ram Vilas Paswan for another 10-12 years. And beaming father is happy with the fact that son proved all those wrong who consider the kids of politicians as ‘Nalayak’ (Useless).
In an ‘Aamne-Samne’ with Ms Anurradha Prasad for her weekly show, father-son duo, Ram Vilas Paswan and Chirag, stressed that film buffs should judge the performance of him (Chirag) in ‘Mile Na Mile Hum' on the basis of his acting rather than his political background.
‘Would you like to be known as the dalit star?’ The suave and Urbane newcomer of Bollywood made it clear, “While it is a fact that I represent the dalit community and I hail from Bihar, I would like to be known in film world due to my acting capabilities rather than my cast. I have to prove my talent. In any case, I do not believe in such things”.
It seems that smile is back on the face of Papa Paswan post Chirag’s film after facing real drubbing at the hustings , both in Lok Sabha and then in Bihar Assembly election. Replying to a question, Paswan admits the fact that ’Mile Na Mile Hum’ once again brought smile among party workers. At last,they are very happy that there is something to cheer about. They put banners of the films at some place at their own.
‘Are you happy with the work of your son in his first film?’ The proud Paswan said that Chirag’s entry in Bollywood has demolished the myth that sons of politicians are useless. He made his presence felt in new virgin territory. “Now, nobody can say that I have helped my son in establishing in films. In any case, when he joined Bollywood, I was not a minister,” Paswan said proudly.
‘Did you paid Rs two crores to Kangana Ranaut to act opposite your son as well as spend money in the making of film?’ While rubbishing the charge with contempt, Paswan said that if he would have the money, he would launch Chirag from some big banner. “As far as paying any sum to Kangana, I would like to tell you that I met her only for a moment at the launch of music of the film.”
Paswan, who is known as hard-core politician, was in tears when he saw son, Chirag, on screen for the first time. “Yes, it was very emotional moment for me. I got very emotional to see Chirag’s ace performance in his first film,” Paswan reveals. And seeing papa getting emotional, Chirag informs it was a moment of truth for him as well. “Mummy-Daddy were more excited than me. I can not ask for more,” says Chirag.
‘Chirag, did you ask Rahul Gandhi to watch your movie?’ Chirag said that he met him on Diwali . “And during the course of conversation, we also talked about the movie. At that time, Rahul Gandhi told me that he would like to see my movie. Later, he watched it and was all praise of it. And while in Patna, I requested Nitish Kumar ji to watch my movie.”
While at the moment Chirag is looking forward for exciting career in films as he has already got some very exciting projects in his kitty, he has no plans to marry in the near future though he has already decided to marry on November 23. ‘Why November 23?’ While Chirag has no answer for marrying on November 23 only, but he has fixed the date since childhood. “I have some kind of fascination for his date since my school days,” he says with smile.
‘Mr. Paswan, would you take up the role of cameo if given a chance?’ “Not at all,” adding ‘I am happy in the world of politics,” he concludes. Paswan Sr. just smiled when he was told that Lalu Prasad Yadav acted in one film.
