TV9/NEWS9 के दो पत्रकारों की ऊर्जा मंत्री डीके शिवकुमार तथा उसके गुंडों द्वारा की गयी पिटाई तथा पुलिस द्वारा गिरफ़्तारी के विरोध में आज पत्रकारों ने कर्नाटक के कई शहरों में विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। प्रदेश के मैसूर, दावनगेरे, रामनगर, गडग, उत्तर कर्नाटक, तुमकुर, बेल्लारी आदि शहरों में विरोध प्रदर्शन किया गया। महिला पत्रकार के साथ हुए दुर्व्यवहार से आक्रोशित महिला संगठनों ने तुमकुर में डीके शिवकुमार के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन करते हुए दोनों पत्रकारों के पर दर्ज़ मामलों को वापस लेने कि मांग की। बंगलुरु में सौ से अधिक महिला पत्रकारों ने पुलिस कमिश्नर से मुलाकात कर स्त्रियों की सुरक्षा का लिए सख्त कदम उठाने की मांग की।
