ज़ी न्यूज़ के एडीटरों पर ब्लैकमेलिंग के आरोप लगने की ख़बर सिर्फ हिन्दुस्तान टाइम्स में ही प्रकाशित नहीं हुई है, बल्कि इसे देश की सबसे बड़ी न्यूज़ एजेंसी पीटीआई ने भी प्रसारित की है। टाइम्स ऑफ इंडिया, इंडियन एक्सप्रेस और बिजनेस स्टैंडर्ड समेत कई अखबारों ने इसे प्रमुखता से छापा है।
हालांकि ये खबर भड़ास4मीडिया पर 6 अक्टूबर को ही प्रकाशित हो गयी थी, लेकिन तब हर किसी ने इसे कंफर्म करने से इंकार कर दिया था। ग़ौरतलब है कि भड़ास4मीडिया पर एफआईआऱ नंबर और दिल्ली पुलिस के विभाग का नाम भी प्रकाशित था, लेकिन किसी भी पक्ष ने टीका-टिप्पणी से इंकार कर दिया था।
सवाल ये भी उठता है कि अब जबकि खबर छप गयी है तब भी ज़ी न्यूज़ प्रबंधन से लेकर एडीटर्स गिल्ड के तमाम तथाकथित बड़े पत्रकारों की जुबान खामोश क्यों है?

Jindal group alleges Rs 100cr extortion bid by Zee staff
NEW DELHI: The crime branch of Delhi Police has registered an FIR against two journalists with the Zee group, as well as a few others, for allegedly trying to extort Rs 100 crore from Congress MP Naveen Jindal's mining company.
According to a crime branch officer, the FIR, lodged under sections pertaining to extortion, comes after the HR head of the Jindal company gave a written complaint to the police against Sudhir Chaudhry, business head and editor of the Zee group, and Sameer Ahluwalia, of Zee business, as well as others, alleging they were trying to extort money from the Jindal company through advertisements in lieu of dropping certain stories regarding coal mine allocations.
The senior officer confirmed the FIR under appropriate sections of IPC to TOI. DCP, crime branch, however, refused to comment.
As per the FIR, the HR head of the Jindal company has alleged that Chaudhry and Ahluwalia met officials of the Jindal group and told them that they had stories against them which could be dropped if a certain amount of money was paid.
The official alleged that when the company refused to pay, the channel ran a series of malicious news items targeting the Jindals. Reacting to the charge, Sudhir Chaudhry told TOI, "These allegations are baseless, false and fabricated. The Jindals were the biggest beneficiaries in the coal block allocation scam and we had exposed them. If they are targeting us, they are targeting investigative journalism. It's an attempt to malign us and seems a result of their frustration after being exposed."
Chaudhry further said, "All our stories were based on proper documentation and investigations. Every media group ran the stories. Does this mean that all of them were trying to extort money from them? "
