The Times of India was carrying out a campaign against the recommendations of the Wage Board and following it two other newspaper groups were also supporting it. They were hoping that Manmohan Singh Government would put a stay on the decision of the Wage Board under their pressure. These institutions were under the illusion that they run the government. Their illusion got eliminated on the day Union Cabinet decided to implement the recommendations with some conditions.
The Management of The Times of India is rattled with this decision of the Union Cabinet and their disturbed consternation has adversely affected the employees of The Times of India who got themselves organised and the courage of speaking out.
The language journalists gathered at the Bhashyai Patrakarita Mahotsav, Indore co-organised by Prabhas Parampara Nyas has decided to express its unity with the employees of The Times of India. The resolurion wants Bihar government to intervene in the interest of the employees. If the management of The Times of India behaves irresponsibly, the state government should cancel the lease of land given to them in Patna, to auction the land besides auctioning the property of The Times of India to compensate the loss of employees and decide to implement the recommendations of the Wage Board.
