We all are grateful to bhadas4media.com for carrying out the news of death of our beloved father late Digvijay Singh Bhadauria on 28.7.2011 in their edition dated 29 July 2011.
Though everybody loves his/father but there is something unique about our late father. In his lifetime he lived a life befitting to his name ‘dig-vijay’ (the conquerer in all directions). His brief life sketch is as follows:-
He was the only son of Thakur Phool Singh Bhadauria of village Dhamna in Chambal Valley in Udi tehsil of Etawah district of UP. His father was the only matriculate person in the region during last decade of 19th and first decade of 20th century when India was under British rule. At the age of 8 years, the boy Digvijay lost his father with mother and 3 sisters to support. Though he inherited a large landed property, major portion thereof was gobbled up by others during his childhood. The life in the ravines of Chambal Valley made his a tough fighter. In his childhood late in the evening he had an encounter with a leopard and with his skill and fearlessness made the leopard run away. In his late youth, he joined British Army in 1939 with a intense feeling to defeat the Hitler Army, the enemy of mankind. During the War he was sent to Middle East front – Aden and Egypt. For his exemplary bravery, he was conferred with Victoria Cross. After the War was over he left the Army in 1945. He was not getting any Pension but grant-in-aid from the State Govt. of UP. After the independence of the country, he was called for his service in Police Action against the Nizam of Deccan Hyderabad. Here he was awarded with President’s Police Medal. Thereafter, he was married to Bitoli Devi, daughter of Late Lal Singh Bais, the village headman of Kushalpur in Tehsil Bhogaon in Mainpuri district. In this village, he spent rest of his life except for some years in Gadhenhdi of Farrukhabad district and Dohra in Mainpuri district.
He is survived by his wife, eight sons and four daughters – Mahesh, Ramesh, Rajeshwari, Veena, late Shailesh, Rajesh, Rakesh, Umesh, Brajesh, Dinesh, Sukhda, Yashda and Divesh. All the children of late Digvijay Singh are educated and well-settled in life. He was not only the father but a guide and philosopher also to his progeny. He was a staunch Aryasamajist and had converted many soldiers of British Army into Arya Samaj of Great Seer Swami Dayanand.
