New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit is ready to handle any role if somebody comes in her place though she confides that she has many unfulfilled tasks to do as people of capital have been electing her. In an exclusive interview with Ms Anurradha Prasad,Editor in Chief of News 24 for her show ‘Ammne-Sammne’, the soft-spoken Chief Minister of the capital said that…
“I have not thought of my future role as I have never thought of becoming the Chief Minister of Delhi. Also, I am not an astrologer who can make predications for future.” The interview will be aired at 8 pm on Saturday and 10 pm on Sunday.
‘Did you feel bad that Delhi has become such a scary place for women ?’ ‘ Absolutely’, says Sheila Dixit, adding, “it is a matter of great concern for all of us. I keep on meeting top cops,women organizations and others to find any long-lasting solution to make Delhi a safe place for women.”
She adds that while Delhi police has started solving cases,they have still not done enough to control the rising crime graph though Delhi police claims that crime is coming down here.
In a question related to recent statement of Home Minister P.Chidamabram (which he withdrawn later) that migrants are responsible for growing crime graph in capital, Sheila Dixit said that Delhi has porous borders. That gives great escape route for criminals to move to neighboring Haryana,UP and Rajasthan.
Replying to a question related to his alleged sour relations with Lt.Governor of Delhi after he wrote a letter to the Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh that she is trying get credit for the successful hosting of Commonwealth Games, she made it clear , “ I have no issue with him. The games were held successfully. All the agencies done great job in order to make games successful.”
Surprisingly defending all those who are facing charges of corrution in organizing the CWG games, Mrs Sheila Dixit said that action should be taken against all those who were involved in any kind of scam during the games, but media should refrain from making wild charges. Press Statement
