New Delhi : In yet another milestone, UNITV today started its ‘Live-Feed’ service from Congress Headquarters with Sonia Gandhi’s first address to party workers after becoming the Congress President for the fourth time in a row. From here on, UNITV will be providing daily live feed to all its clients from 24, Akbar Road in the national capital.

With this UNI Television has become the first Indian news agency to provide live feed to its clients. Pradeep Singh, Chief Editor, UNI Television said: “We will ensure that UNITV offers almost all important Live Feeds to its subscriber’s across India, very soon. This is part of our ambitious plan to become a one-stop solution for all kinds of broadcast content in South Asia.”

The service has come as a boon to the host of news broadcasters across India who did not have their personal Outdoor Broadcast Van (OB) for live telecast. It may be noted that there are more than 200 news channels across India and only about 12-15 big networks have access to the OB facility.

The Live-Feed was made possible with the laying of a 4MB Point-to-Point-Link-Line between Congress Headquarters and UNI Television Headquarters in New Delhi. Corporate Affairs Minister and senior Congress leader Salman Khursheed believes that the live feed service from Congress headquarters will greatly enhance the coverage of the party’s thoughts and beliefs among the people. “The UNI Tv live feed will lend support to the scores of television news channels which do not have access to Live OB facility at the party office, either due to economical constraints or geographical distance,” said Salman Khursheed.

Senior Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed is also excited about this new live service from the party headquarters. “UNI Television’s live service from the party office will go a long way in spreading the party’s message and ideals among people as the agency will distribute the coverage to a much wider audience than any single channel,” said Ahmad. Congress Media Secretary Tom Vaddakan said, “The Congress Party is happy to know that UNI TV has launched its excellent live service today from our office. We wish them best of luck.”

News Director of NewsX and senior television news professional Vishnu Shanker believes that the live service would allow national news channels to allocate resources more efficiently. “This is an excellent service. It helps us to stay abreast with latest news as it happens, which is absolutely essential for any news channel. Hope UNI Television goes from strength to strength.”

TV9 Kannanda, CEO, Mahendra Mishra appreciated this leap forward by UNI Television and said that his channel was really looking forward to such services. “This will not only facilitate us to focus on our regional Diaspora, it will also allow us to save us on the cost part,” he said.

Mukesh Kumar, the Chief Editor of Maurya TV also welcomed this step and said that it’s a boon for regional channels like Maurya, as they can concentrate their limited resources where it matters.
