Patna : Protesting the “delay” in notification of Majithia wageboard”s recommendations for journalists and non-journalists, media persons in Patna and also at different parts of Bihar organised dharnas on the call of Confederation of Newspapers and News Agencies Employees Organisations (CNNAEO). Dharna was led by the Bihar Working Journalists Union (BWJU) General Secretary, Arun Kumar at Patna.
Addressing the dharna Kumar said “We demand the government to immediately notify the Majithia wageboard”s recommendations as scribes are facing hardship in view of exorbitant price rise and if UPA government at the centre failed to listen to and respond to our demands favourabky the journalistic community will be “forced to take up the issue with the voters of five states going to the polls in April .”
“Though the report was submitted timely on December 31, the government is yet to notify it ostensibly under pressure from some media houses close to ruling party said Kumar. Press Release
