मुंबई की पत्रकार गरिमा अनुराग भी उन हजारों पत्रकारों में से हैं, जिन्हें मैनेजमेंट के अलोकतांत्रित व्यवहार को झेलना पड़ा है। गरिमा मुंबई में नवभारत टाइम्स में थीं। उन्हें छह महीने के लिए कांट्रैक्ट पर रखा गया। कांट्रैक्ट खत्म होने के बाद उन्हें आश्वस्त किया गया कि वे काम करती रहें, कोई दिक्कत नहीं होगी। यह भी कहा गया कि पेपरवर्क होने में वक्त लगता है। इसी के बाद कथित मंदी के दौर का हल्ला शुरू हुआ और एचआर वालों का नाटक भी। कांट्रैक्ट रि-न्यू होगा या नहीं होगा, कुछ नहीं बताया गया। उनसे काम कराया जाता रहा। सेलरी मिलती रही। कई महीनों बाद एक दिन उनसे कह दिया गया कि कांट्रैक्ट रिन्यू नहीं होगा, इस्तीफा दीजिए। गरिमा ने इस्तीफा देने से मना किया। गरिमा अब भी मुंबई में ही हैं और इन दिनों एक अंग्रेजी मैग्जीन में कार्यरत हैं। उन्हें नभाटा मैनेजमेंट के व्यवहार से बेहद झटका लगा है। वे दुखी हैं और आहत भी। उन्होंने अपने दिल की बात भड़ास4मीडिया के पास लिख भेजा है। उनका लिखा अंग्रेजी में है, इसलिए उसे अंग्रेजी में ही प्रकाशित कर रहे हैं। -संपादक, भड़ास4मीडिया

Influence of money amd Managememt in media, print and electronic is nothing new now….so many times new and old journalist have to compromise a little or more from their ethics and morals for sake of management. Some raise their voice, some dont with a thought that they will change system being in system…..i also had similar thoughts and therefore many times i had to forget that i am a journalist and just behaved like any normal girl at various Navbharat Times, Mumbai prestigious events and book launches presenting cheif guest and contest winners gifts and flowers…no please dont confuse my work was to take flowers from table to the respective person who used to greet the guests.
this is just one such thing…..but i am here to pen down the unjust this management did to me by laying me off and plotting it as if i have resigned on my own. Everyone knows that this recession has brought all good and not so good professions and groups at same platforms and all have opted to lay off there employees silently….but Times Group management is Zaroorat Se Jyada Smart.
When my contract ended in januray 2009, i always had this idea that may be my contract does not get renewed….so i was in process of searching job for me. Also i was hinted that that seeing the market situation it is possible that my contract will not b renewed, but i should work. On 15th or 16th of march i was confirmed that my services are not required anymore and they will consider me when NBT needs somebody….i was not at loss as i had already grabbed another descent job. As the news of my layoff broke i was adviced not to resign on my own as i should get some compensation from company because i was working there as any other normal employee and since i am working continiously and getting pay for these extra months i am on company’s pay role….just to remind my contract had ended in jan and even after that i ws working there and getting my payments etc. on 31st or one or two days before that i started getting calls from Times that come soon and come surely. I went and to my utter surprise within half an hour they persuaded me to resign. they created such an atmosphere that even i felt that if i dont resign they will face some problem.
In the process i also checked with concerned person that why am i supposed to resign when i m no where in their records after january 1st. But came the answer “Garima, if u dont resign your PF will get stuck.”
I still repent my ignorance about law. In mumbai i stay alone so there was no scope of taking advice from my family or friends. And now all my papers including my financial settlements mention that i resign.
My only Question when Times Group boasts of being India’s biggest media house why cant it take responsilities of bringing respect and justice to its Hindi journalists, who are shown attitude by just somebody from management ….why cant it take responsiblity that even they are weak enough to layoff employees without paying them wat they should get…..from my side this all.
