नए टीवी चैनलों की मंजूरी प्रक्रिया आनलाइन हुई

अगले आदेश तक नए न्यूज चैनलों के लिए आवेदन न स्वीकारने के ऐलान के बाद केन्द्रीय सूचना प्रसारण मंत्रालय ने किसी तरह के टीवी चैनल को शुरू करने के लिए लाइसेंस हासिल करने की प्रक्रिया में बेहतरी के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठाया है. मंजूरी की प्रक्रिया को पारदर्शी बनाने के लिए मंत्रालय ने आनलाइन पड़ताल की व्यवस्था शुरू की है.

मंत्रालय के इस पहल के अनुसार टीवी चैनल शुरू करने की अर्जी देने वाले अब आनलाइन प्रक्रिया के तहत अपनी अर्जी के बारे में जानकारी हासिल कर सकते हैं. यह सुविधा मंत्रालय की वेबसाइट पर मिलेगी. कोई भी आवेदक कंपनी अपने विशिष्ट पहचान संख्या और पासवर्ड के जरिए इस सेवा का इस्तेमाल कर सकती है. पीटीआई ने इस फैसले के बारे में जो खबर रिलीज की है, वो इस प्रकार है-

Now, TV channel applicants can track status online

New Delhi (PTI) Companies applying for satellite TV channel licence can now track their applications online as the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has launched a web site aimed at brining complete transparency in the system of approving television channels. The system launched by the ministry — Satellite TV Channel Application Tracking System (STATS) — will allow applicants to get updates on the status of their applications online.

Besides, they can check status for change of name, change of logo, change of directors of the company, change in the share holding pattern, extension of period of operationalisation and license renewal among others, ministry release said today. A software has been developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for the purpose and a link has been made available on the website of the ministry.
Applicant companies can log in with their Unique Company Identification Number (CIN) and a password to use the software. Each applicant can see the information related to the channels in respect of which an application has been submitted to the ministry.

A few months back, the ministry had also started the system of Open House meetings on 5th of every month where applicant companies participate and get information about the status of their applications.
