चंडीगढ़ प्रेस क्लब के पदाधिकारियों के 2009 में हुए चुनाव को अवैध बताते हुए कोर्ट में दायर की गई याचिका को अदालत ने निरस्त करते हुए पूरे मामले को आर्बिट्रेटर के हवाले कर दिया है. क्लब के सदस्य संजीव पांडेय, चंचल मनोहर सिंह और पीडी मोहिंद्रा ने क्लब के संविधान में संशोधन को चुनौती देते हुए चुनाव को अवैध घोषित करने की मांग अदालत से की थी. अदालत में क्लब के वकील ने कहा कि क्लब के संविधान में संशोधन को चुनौती आर्बिट्रेशन में दिया जाना चाहिए, न कि सीधे कोर्ट में इस प्रकरण को लाया जाना चाहिए. इस पूरे मामले को लेकर ट्रिब्यून, चंडीगढ़ में एक खबर प्रकाशित हुई है, जिसे हम हू-ब-हू प्रकाशित कर रहे हैं
Press club case referred to arbitrator
They said the amendment in 2009 was illegal, thus it should be declared “null and void”. The counsel for the club, while moving the application under Section 8 of the Arbitration and Consolation Act, said the matter should be referred to the arbitration on the grounds that the amended constitution was passed on January 4, 2009 and if anyone had any complaint regarding the club should have moved its application to the arbitration and not straight away to the court.
The three have now challenged the amendment made during the registration of the club in 1979 stating it to be illegal but still they participated in the same, he added.
