आंतरिक मेल जारी : एचटी प्रबंधन की ओर से हिंदुस्तान अखबार के शीर्ष संपादकीय नेतृत्व में हुए फेरबदल के संबंध में आंतरिक मेल जारी कर दिया गया है। इसमें शशि शेखर का पद एडिटर-इन-चीफ का बताया गया है और कहा गया है कि वे हिंदुस्तान के सभी प्रिंट और आनलाइन संस्करणों, नंदन और कादंबिनी मैग्जीनों के लिए उत्तरदायी होंगे। मेल से स्पष्ट है कि शशि शेखर एचटी ग्रुप के हिंदी मीडिया के सर्वेसर्वा होंगे। एचटी मीडिया के निदेशक और सीईओ राजीव वर्मा की तरफ से एचटी के सभी कर्मचारियों को जारी आंतरिक मेल में कहा गया है कि शशि शेखर 4 सितंबर को अपना कार्यभार ग्रहण करेंगे। मेल में मृणाल पांडे की काफी तारीफ की गई है। कहा गया है कि उन्हीं के नेतृत्व में हिंदुस्तान देश का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा हिंदी दैनिक बना। हिंदुस्तान को युवाओं से जोड़ने के लिए मृणाल के प्रयासों का उल्लेख करते हुए उनकी प्रशंसा की गई है। मेल में शशि शेखर की प्रोफाइल, व्यक्तित्व और इतिहास के बारे में भी काफी कुछ कहा गया है। मेल में साफ-साफ कहा गया है कि हिंदुस्तान के संपादकीय विभाग के चार दिग्गज नवीन जोशी, प्रमोद जोशी, हरि नारायण सिंह और अकू श्रीवास्तव 4 सितंबर से शशि शेखर को रिपोर्ट करेंगे।
दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण बात यह है कि चार दिग्गजों द्वारा शशि शेखर को रिपोर्ट किए जाने संबंधी वाक्य में हिंदुस्तान अखबार लिखने की जगह ‘हिंदी बिजनेस’ लिखा गया है। इस एक शब्द से पता चलता है कि बड़े मीडिया हाउसों का लक्ष्य पत्रकारिता नहीं बल्कि बिजनेस करना-कराना है। अगर ऐसा नहीं होता तो ‘हिंदी बिजनेस’ शब्द का इस्तेमाल खासकर संपादकीय संदर्भों में नहीं किया जाता। गैर-संपादकीय विभाग के बदलावों से संबंधित मेल में ‘हिंदी बिजनेस’ शब्द धड़ल्ले से चल सकता है लेकिन जब संपादकीय विभाग की बात की जाती है तो कम से कम पत्रकारिता, संपादकीय, न्यूज, कंटेंट …. जैसे कई शब्द हैं, जिनका इस्तेमाल किया जा सकता था। अगर इस एक वाक्य, जो अंग्रेजी में है… The senior editorial leadership of Hindi business comprising of M/s Naveen Joshi, Pramod Joshi, Hari Narayan Singh and Aaku Srivastava will report to Shashi….का हिंदी अनुवाद करेंगे तो यही लिखेंगे कि…. हिंदी व्यापार (…या हिंदी का व्यापार या हिंदी बिजनेस या हिंदी अखबार से आने वाले बिजनेस को…) देखने वाले वरिष्ठ संपादकीय नेतृत्व नवीन जोशी, प्रमोद जोशी, हरि नारायण सिंह और अकू श्रीवास्तव शशि को रिपोर्ट करेंगे। जाहिर है, इस वाक्य से अच्छा अर्थ नहीं निकल रहा है। चलिए, हम सभी इसे एक मानवीय भूल, जो ट्रेनी से लेकर सीईओ हर कोई कर सकता है, मानकर आगे बढ़ते हैं। भड़ास4मीडिया के पास आंतरिक मेल की एक प्रति है, जिसे हम यहां पूरा का पूरा प्रकाशित कर रहे हैं-

I am pleased to welcome the highly respected Shashi Shekhar as the Editor-in-Chief of Hindustan.
1. Mrs Mrinal Pande, one of the most acclaimed and awarded journalists in India, after an illustrious leadership tenure as the Editor-in-Chief of Hindustan, is now handing over the baton to the highly respected Shashi Shekhar. Under her stellar leadership – while managing the entire editorial operations, Hindustan has seen meteoric rise that has made it emerge as the 3rd largest daily in India. She has been instrumental in creating the ‘Tyarri’ platform for Hindustan that has widened its appeal to the youth in the Hindi belt’ and has transformed the daily to a more energetic, youthful and contemporary paper. She is also credited with enhancing the ‘credible’ and ‘unbiased’ credentials of the brand.
2. Shashi Shekhar, as Editor-in-Chief, will be responsible for all the print and online editions of Hindustan and the Hindi magazines Nandan and Kadambini. The senior editorial leadership of Hindi business comprising of M/s Naveen Joshi, Pramod Joshi, Hari Narayan Singh and Aaku Srivastava will report to Shashi.
Shashi has 29 years of rich and diverse experience in Hindi journalism across both print and television media. Prior to joining HT Media. Shashi was the Group Editor & President (Editorial) for Amar Ujala, an organization with which he was associated for 7 years.
Shashi began his career in journalism with Hindi daily Aaj and was instrumental in its expansion across UP, Bihar and MP. After Aaj, he worked as an Executive Producer with the leading news channel Aaj Tak and played a key role in shaping its news content and weekend programmes.
Shashi brings with him an expertise of managing complex multi-location and multi-state editions. His deep understanding of the Hindi heartland has helped him successfully start many new editions across the various Hindi states. He is known for nurturing and building Editorial talent and many of his trainees have gone on to take senior editorial positions. He is himself a prolific writer and also hosts TV programmes on contemporary issues.
Shashi is a Post Graduate in Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology from Banaras Hindu University and also has a Diploma in Journalism.
Shashi will join us on September 4, 2009 and will work with the business team with a view to further strengthen our product, help expand our geographical footprint and increase Hindustan readership.
