NUJ(I) condoles death of Kapil Verma

New Delhi (January 11, 2016): The National Union of Journalists (India) NUJ(I) is deeply saddened by the demise of its former president and Ex MP (Rajya Sabha) Kapil Verma. He was 87.

In a statement, NUJ President, Ras Bihari and Secretary General, Ratan Dixit expressed their grief over the sad demise of Kapil Verma. Verma was the one of the founder members of our state unit UPJA and elected its President. He was state Bureau head of The Hindustan Time, Lucknow. They said Vermaji was a brave man who stood for the rights of journalists. He was President of NUJ(I) in 1981. NUJ(I) Secretary General Ratan Dixit sent a condolence message to Verma’s family.

“The NUJ salutes Kapil Verma as a courageous journalist who upheld the ethics of journalism even at a heavy cost to himself. As NUJ(I)  former President he had agitated against the managements for taking arbitrary decisions against journalists,” said Mr Ras Bihari.
