Mohammad Haider : A shameful situation…. Does this picture not cast a blow our nerves? And our hearts? It’s a very tragic situation. The Medical and Health facilities in the State have almost collapsed. Medical Aid is available only to the high and mighty…. Friends, you may, as educated and able person try and rid your fellow citizens, who are the lesser mortals, by ensuring the initiation of a corrective action…. Every step counts. The process may be initiated by taking a stock of the situation… The PHCs, the CHCs, the District Hospitals are ill equipped, with a fraction of actual workforce, vis-a-vis sanctioned strength… The Nursing homes run sans any approval, exploiting and harassing people…. Its high time. We need to ACT.. Its already TOO LATE.

The medical profession, which is one of the noblest professions, is becoming commercialised… The doctors, unfortunately seem to have completely forgotten the hippocratic oath. The Nursing homes, without even the most basic of amenities continue to pay havoc with human lives, and Stray news of the kind posted by me do keep coming often, failing to move us or to awaken our sleeping conscience. Please help us take this matter to a logical conclusion. We read/view in print and electronic media about many cases of patients who have suffered major health setback or even died due to receiving allopathic treatment from unqualified quacks. This is the tip of the iceberg as most cases of malpractice go unreported. It has been reported that number of quacks are increasing in India, both in urban and rural areas.

It is estimated that about 10 lakh quacks are practicing allopathic medicine, out of which 4 lakh belong to practitioners of Indian Medicine (Ayurvedic, Sidha, Tibb and Unani). The health of the gullible people including poor, critically ill, women and children are at stake. Therefore, there is a greater need to act against quacks wherever any of us come across them. Quacks can be divided amongst three basic categories as under : 1. Quacks with no qualification whatsoever. 2. Practitioners of Indian Medicine (Ayurvedic, Sidha, Tibb, Unani), Homeopathy, Naturopathy, commonly called Ayush, who are not qualified to practice Modern Medicine (Allopathy) but are practicing Modern Medicine. 3. Practitioners of so called integrated Medicine, Alternative System of Medicine, electro-homeopathy, indo-allopathy etc. terms which do not exist in any Act. There is acute lack of awareness amongst State Governments, the legislature(s), judiciary and even doctors themselves regarding threat to nation’s health from quackery and about non-entitlement of practitioners of Indian Medicine who are practicing Modern Medicine. I am planning an action on this. Will keep u posted.

जागो मित्रों, और सब मिल कर इस विभीषिका, इस त्रासदी के विरुद्ध आवाज़ बुलंद करो, वरना बहुत पछताना पड़ेगा और जाने वाले वापस नहीं आएँगे।
