New Delhi October 17, 2019 :- The National Union of Journalists (India) strongly condemned the brutal killing of K.Satyanarayana (49), a reporter working for ‘Andhra Jyothi’ a Telugu Daily hacked to death in Andhra Pradesh.
NUJ(I) President Prajnananda Chauduri and Secretary General Sheo Kumar Agarwal said that NUJ(I) worried and shocked with increasing incident in the state concerns over the safety of reporters. We appeal to the state government to setup a high level judicial committee to probe the incident and culprits should be nabbed immediately. The NUJ(I)’s demand for the enactment of the Journalists Protection Act is endorsing this incident. We strongly condemn the gruesome murder of young journalist.
Journalists Association of Andhra Pradesh (JAAP) President MDVSR Punnam Raju and General Secretary Yugandhar Reddy informed to NUJ(I) that “K Satyanarayan was attacked and murdered in Tuni, East Godavari. He died on the spot while the assailants fled after committing the crime. They demanded from State Government for adequate compensation to the family of journos and appeal to the state government and administration to give advisory to all authorities that this incidents could not occurs in future. “
An official NUJ(I) release said the a high level NUJ(I) fact finding committee will visit scene of offence and unearth the facts.
