आईपीएस अफसर अमिताभ ठाकुर ने शाहजहाँपुर निवासी सोशल मीडिया पत्रकार जगेन्द्र सिंह की मौत के बाद दर्ज किये गए एफआईआर को देर से उठाया गया कदम बताया है और इस बात पर कष्ट व्यक्त किया है कि जगेन्द्र के जीते जी उनका मुक़दमा दर्ज नहीं हुआ.
उन्होंने इस मुकदमे की निष्पक्ष और त्वरित तफ्तीश की मांग की है. साथ ही कहा है कि जगेन्द्र की मौत के पहले उन्होंने भी उनका बयान रिकॉर्ड किया था, जिसमें उन्होंने अपनी हालत के लिए मंत्री राममूर्ति वर्मा द्वारा जमौर में एक लाख वर्ग गज जमीन कब्ज़ा करने, तीन लट्ठा चौड़े बक्शी नाला को अवैध कब्जे द्वारा एक लट्ठा कर देने जैसी बातों को उजागर करने को पूरी तरह जिम्मेदार बताया था. ठाकुर ने कहा है कि वे जगेन्द्र की रिकॉर्डिंग को विवेचक को सौंपेंगे.

IPS officer Amitabh Thakur has called the registration of FIR in Shahjehanpur based social media journalist Jagendra Singh’s case after his death as a delayed action, which he said should have been registered while he was alive.
He asked for independent and swift investigation in this case. He said he had recorded the detailed statement of Sri Jagendra before his death where he alleged minister Rammurti Verma for the incidence for having exposed his corruptions like illegal occupation of 1 lakh square feet land in Jamaur, reducing three lattha wide Bakshi Nulla to on1 lattha through encroachment etc.
Sri Thakur said he shall be handing over the recorded video to the investigator.
