Veteran journalist Allah Bux died

Veteran journalist Allah Bux died . Mr. Bux who had been in the field of journalism for more than 50 years, serving for Daily Thanthi suffered breathlessness and died here around 2.30 p.m. He was 78 years old and he is survived by his wife Mumtaj and son Abul Kalam Azad, Daily Thanthi reporter. Bux entered the field of journalism at a very young age soon after completing the Pre University Course (PUC).

He was introduced to journalism by his father, Seeniya Ul, who had served as agent-cum-reporter for Daily Thanthi in Rameswaram. Bux had a close association with Muthuramalinga Thevar and Baskara Sethupathy, the King of Ramanathapuram. Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the late Chief Ministers K. Kamaraj and M.G. Ramachandran, and former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi knew him personally and used to discuss political situation whenever they visited the district headquarters. In the beginning of his career, Mr Bux was the only reporter for almost all dailies in the district and employed as a stringer for Press Trust of India (PTI).
