लखनऊ के प्रतिष्ठित अधिवक्ता, सैयद मोहम्मद हैदर रिज़वी, ने एक बार फिर अपनी कानूनी प्रतिबद्धता और सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व का परिचय दिया है। हाल ही में, इलाहाबाद उच्च न्यायालय की लखनऊ खंडपीठ ने उनकी जनहित याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए लखनऊ के ऐतिहासिक स्मारक छोटा इमामबाड़ा के संरक्षण और अतिक्रमण हटाने के निर्देश जारी किए हैं।
न्यायमूर्ति ए.आर. मसूदी और न्यायमूर्ति सुभाष विद्यार्थी की खंडपीठ ने भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण (एएसआई) को दो सप्ताह के भीतर मरम्मत कार्य की विस्तृत योजना और अनुमानित खर्च की रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत करने का आदेश दिया है। साथ ही, जिला प्रशासन को छोटा इमामबाड़ा के मुख्य प्रवेश द्वार से अवैध अतिक्रमण तुरंत हटाने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं।
इससे पहले प्रतिष्ठित अधिवक्ता सैयद मोहम्मद हैदर रिज़वी की ही जनहित याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए हाई कोर्ट की लखनऊ खंडपीठ ने उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार और नगर निगमों को स्मारकों और निगमों से अतिक्रमण हटाने का निर्देश दिया है।
न्यायमूर्ति ओम प्रकाश शुक्ला और न्यायमूर्ति अताउ रहमान मसूदी की खंडपीठ ने यह निर्देश जारी किया, जिसमें राज्य सरकार और नगर निगम को स्मारकों से सभी अतिक्रमण हटाने और उठाए गए कदमों के संबंध में एक हलफनामा प्रस्तुत करने का आदेश दिया गया है। अदालत ने नागरिक स्थिति को सुव्यवस्थित करने और स्मारकों की सुरक्षा करने का भी आदेश दिया।
सैयद मोहम्मद हैदर रिज़वी, जो एक विरासत प्रेमी भी हैं, ने स्मारकों के अंदर और आसपास से अतिक्रमण हटाने और उनके उचित संरक्षण के लिए यह जनहित याचिका दायर की थी। उन्होंने कहा, “यह दूरगामी आदेश अतिक्रमण हटाकर हमारी स्मारकीय विरासत को संरक्षित करने में वरदान साबित होगा।”
यह पहली बार नहीं है जब अधिवक्ता हैदर ने सामाजिक मुद्दों पर अपनी सक्रियता दिखाई है। अपने 17 वर्षों के पेशेवर अनुभव के दौरान, उन्होंने मुस्लिम कानून सहित विभिन्न कानूनी क्षेत्रों में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है।
उनकी इस पहल से लखनऊ की ऐतिहासिक धरोहरों के संरक्षण में महत्वपूर्ण प्रगति की उम्मीद है, जिससे आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए इन स्मारकों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित हो सकेगी।

The recent High Court directive to conserve the damaged Chota Imambada Gates marks a significant milestone in our efforts towards preserving our cultural heritage. The gates, which have suffered massive damage, encroachment, vandalism, and neglect, will undergo much-needed repairs, with the joint efforts of Archaeological Survey of India, which has been required to submit a detailed estimate for the purpose, and the Husainabad Trust’s financial support, which has enough funds, required for the purpose. The order also directs the District Administration to remove the encroachers from these gates.
The Chota Imambada, also known as the Hussainabad Imambara, is a stunning example of Nawabi architecture, having intricate designs, Belgian crystal chandeliers, and ornate calligraphy . This iconic monument, built by King Muhammad Ali Shah in 1838, is an integral part of Lucknow’s rich cultural landscape.
The conservation efforts will not only restore the gates to their former glory but also ensure the long-term preservation of this incredible monument. As the ASI and Husainabad Trust work together to bring this project to fruition, we can hope that this initiative will inspire further efforts to protect and promote India’s cultural heritage.
