आईपीएस अफसर अमिताभ ठाकुर ने गृह मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार को उन्हें उत्तर प्रदेश से किसी अन्य कैडर में भेजने हेतु प्रत्यावेदन दिया है. आईपीएस कैडर नियमावली के नियम 5(2) में कैडर परिवर्तन हेतु जीवन भय की स्थिति उत्पन्न होने की अनिवार्यता को बताते हुए अमिताभ ने अपने प्रत्यावेदन में कहा कि उन्हें और उनकी पत्नी एक्टिविस्ट डॉ नूतन ठाकुर को सपा सुप्रीमो मुलायम सिंह यादव, जिन्होंने उन्हें फोन पर धमकी दी थी और खनन मंत्री गायत्री प्रजापति, जिनके खिलाफ नूतन ने लोकायुक्त को शिकायत की थी, से जान का सीधा खतरा है.
उन्होंने कहा कि राज्यसत्ता का व्यापक दुरुपयोग कर उन्हें प्रताड़ित करने के अलावा उन्हें वास्तविक प्राणों का भय भी है. अमिताभ ने कहा है कि ये लोग अत्यंत ताकतवर हैं और ऐसी स्थितियों में उनका कैडर परिवर्तन किया जाना ही उचित होगा.
Amitabh Thakur seeks Cadre change
IPS officer Amitabh Thakur has written to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India seeking his Cadre change from Uttar Pradesh to any other State cadre. Quoting the requirement of extreme threat to life as the reason for Inter-state Cadre change under Rule 5(2) of the IPS Cadre Rules, Amitabh said in his representation that he and his wife activist Dr Nutan Thakur have direct threat to their life from SO Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, who directly threatened him on phone and mining minister Gayatri Prajapati, against whom Nutan presented a complaint before the Lokayukta.
He said, other than harassment by misuse of State authority, they also have real life threat. Amitabh said these people are extremely powerful and hence it is necessary to change his Cadre from UP.
