Stop Terminations During Lockdown Says DUJ

The Delhi Union of Journalists is deeply concerned at the arbitrary terminations of large numbers of journalists and other newspaper employees by the Hindustan Times group in Delhi.

The figure reportedly is 130 people. Many of them have been pressured to resign, rather than being sacked, as no compensation needs to be paid to those who resign.

We condemn this wholesale downsizing by the Hindustan Times group which has taken advantage of the lockdown to desert its own employees. We appeal to all HT employees to resist this attack on their jobs and working rights.
