IFWJ asks for probe into the suspicious death of Kerala journalist

New Delhi, 21 December. Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) has called for the thorough investigation into the suspicious death of the Kerala journalist SV Prasad (36) in a road accident in Thiruvananthapuram two days ago. Shri Prasad had worked with many prestigious new channels like Kairali TV, Manorama News, TV 18 Kerala, and Mangalam TV. A foul play is suspected into the fatal accident which took away his life. The accident occurred in broad daylight on the busy street of the State Capital town.

It may be noted that Shri Pradeep had run a series of reports on the gold smuggling scandal, and other crimes allegedly involving politicians and their families. The wife of the killed journalist has said that her husband was under tremendous pressure. He was getting threats to withdraw his plea before the CBI court to probe the honey- trap case involving many bigwigs of the government.

In a joint statement, the IFWJ President BV Mallikarjunaiah and the Secretary General Parmanand Pandey has asked the state government to provide any befitting job to his wife Ms Sreeja and adequate compensation to the family of the late Sri Prasad.
