राष्ट्रपति को ज्ञापन देकर उत्तराखंड में पत्रकारों की गिरफ्तारी के मामलों में हस्तक्षेप का अनुरोध किया गया, पत्रकारों ने कहा कि मीडिया को उत्तराखंड सरकार पर भरोसा नहीं, 30 अगस्त को ऑनलाइन धरना दिया जाएगा
नई दिल्ली, 29 अगस्त 2020। नेशनल यूनियन ऑफ जर्नलिस्ट्स-इंडिया और दिल्ली जर्नलिस्ट्स एसोसिएशन ने देश में पत्रकारों की हत्या और उत्तराखंड सहित अन्य राज्यों में पत्रकारों पर फर्जी मुकदमे बनाकर जेल में भेजने के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन किया। प्रदर्शन के बाद राष्ट्रपति श्री रामनाथ कोविंद को दो ज्ञापन सौंपे गए। एक ज्ञापन में कहा गया है कि उत्तर प्रदेश में सुरक्षा मांगने के बावजूद पुलिस की लापरवाही के कारण तीन पत्रकारों को गोलियों से उड़ा दिया गया। दूसरे ज्ञापन में उत्तराखंड में भ्रष्टाचार और प्रशासनिक खामियों को उजागर करने पत्रकारों पर राजद्रोह के मामले दर्ज कर जेल भेजने के मामलों में हस्तक्षेप का अनुरोध किया गया है।
इटंरनेशनल फेडरेशन ऑफ जर्नलिस्ट्स से संबद्ध एनयूजे-आई के अध्यक्ष रास बिहारी की अगुवाई में प्रदर्शन किया गया। उन्होंने बताया कि राष्ट्रपति को दिए गए ज्ञापन में पत्रकार सुरक्षा कानून बनाने की मांग की गई है। 30 अगस्त को पूरे देश में पत्रकारों के खिलाफ फर्जी मुकदमे दर्ज करने के खिलाफ ऑनलाइन धरना दिया जाएगा। दिल्ली जर्नलिस्ट्स एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष राकेश थपलियाल ने कहा कि उत्तराखंड में पत्रकारों का सरकार द्वारा उत्पीड़न किया जा रहा है। उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री श्री त्रिवेंद्र सिंह रावत मीडिया की आवाज दबाने में लगे हुए हैं।
राज्य के वरिष्ठ पत्रकार और निजी न्यूज़ चैनल के मुख्य संपादक श्री उमेश कुमार, वरिष्ठ पत्रकार राजेश शर्मा, एसपी सेमवाल व अन्य लोगों के खिलाफ राजद्रोह का मुकदमा दर्ज कर गैंगस्टर लगा दिया।
दिल्ली जर्नलिस्ट्स एसोसिएशन के महासचिव के पी मलिक ने कहा कि उत्तर प्रदेश में बदमाशों की गोलियों से मारे गए तीन पत्रकारों शलभमणि तिवारी, विक्रम जोशी और रतन सिंह ने पुलिस से हत्या होने की आशंका के कारण सुरक्षा मांगी थी। तीनों की मौत उत्तर प्रदेश में खराब कानून-व्यवस्था के कारण हुई है। प्रदर्शन में आए पत्रकार साथियों को प्रेस काउंसिल सदस्य आनंद राणा, एनयूजे और डीजेए के वरिष्ठ नेता सीमा किरण, अशोक किंकर, नरेश गुप्ता आदि ने संबोधित किया। सभी वक्ताओं ने कहा कि मीडिया पर बढ़ते हमलों के मद्देनजर पत्रकार सुरक्षा कानून बनाने की जरूरत है।
राष्ट्रपति को सौंपे गए ज्ञापन में कहा गया है कि पत्रकारों को गलत तरीके से जेल भेजने वाली उत्तराखंड की त्रिवेंद्र सिंह रावत सरकार पर भरोसा नहीं है। राष्ट्रपति से इन मामलों की अन्य राज्य की पुलिस से जांच कराने का अनुरोध किया गया है। संगठनों की तरफ से 30 अगस्त को देश के सबसे बड़े ऑनलाइन धरना में भाग लेने की अपील की गई है।

New Delhi August 29, 2020 : The National Union of Journalists(India )and the Delhi Journalists’ Association have been protesting against the murder of journalists and fake cases against journalists in the country including Uttarakhand. After the protest, two letters were presented to President Shri Ram Nath Kovind. The memo said three journalists were shot dead despite demands for protection in Uttar Pradesh. These incidents are taking place due to police negligence. In the second letter, it has been requested to intervene in the cases of journalists where they sent to jail by filing sedition cases against them for exposing corruption and administrative failure in Uttarakhand.
A large number of members of the media took part in the protest, which was led by Mr. Ras Bihari, President of the NUJ-(I), an affiliate of the International Federation of Journalists. Mr. Ras Bihari said letters submitted to the President demanded the implementation of the Journalist Protection Act. On August 30, there will be an online protest against registering fake cases against journalists. Mr.Rakesh Tapliyal, President of the Delhi Journalists’ Association, said that the government was harassing journalists in Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat is trying to the suppressed voice of media. Mr. Umesh Kumar, Senior journalist of the state and editor-in-chief of the private news channel, senior journalists, Mr.Rajesh Sharma, Mr.S P Semwal, and others were charged with sedition and branded as gangsters.
Mr.KP Malik, General Secretary of the Delhi Journalists’ Association, said three journalists, Shalabhamani Tiwari, Vikram Joshi, and Ratan Singh, who was shot dead by bullets in Uttar Pradesh, had sought protection from the police as they were likely to be killed. All three were killed due to poor law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.
Press Council member, Mr. Anand Rana, senior leaders of NUJ and DJA Ms. Seema Kiran, Mr. Ashok Kinker,Mr. Naresh Gupta have participated in the protest. They have raised their voice against the increasing atrocities against Media persons and said that Journalists in India Unprotected and Exposed to Violence. Thus, there is immediate need to enact a journalist protection law.
The memorandum submitted to the President said that the Trivendra Singh Rawat’s government of Uttarakhand, who sent journalists to jail slapping false cases is not be trusted anymore. The President has been requested to get these cases investigated by the police of other state. All Unions and media companies are requested to participate in the largest online dharna in the country on August 30.
