The Prime Minister Office (PMO) has denied information about the personnel and vehicles provided for the security of the Prime Minister. Lucknow based activist Dr Nutan Thakur had sought information about the number of personnel and vehicles provided for the security of the Prime Minister along with the expenses incurred for the salary of these security personnel and the expenses incurred for maintenance and fuel expenses of these vehicles.
Praveen Kumar, Under Secretary, PMO denied the entire set of information saying that the matters relating with the PM’s security and official vehicles are related to the Special Security Group (SPG), which is exempted from the purview of RTI Act under section 24 of the Act.
Nutan had sought similar information from President’s Secretariat. DCP, Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi had refused to provide the number of security personnel and number of official vehicles provided to the President, citing endangerment to the life and physical safety as the reason but he had told her that during the last 04 years Rs. 155.4 crores were spent on the Salary of the security personnel provided for the security of the President, while Rs. 64.9 lakh has been incurred for maintenance of the vehicles provided for the movement of these security personnel.
पीएमओ ने पीएम सुरक्षा पर खर्च बताने से मना किया
प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय (पीएमओ) ने प्रधानमंत्री की सुरक्षा के लिए लगे कार्मिक तथा वाहनों के सम्बन्ध में सूचना देने से मना कर दिया. लखनऊ स्थित आरटीआई एक्टिविस्ट डॉ नूतन ठाकुर ने पीएम की सुरक्षा में लगे कार्मिकों तथा वाहनों की संख्या मांगी थी. साथ ही उन्होंने इन कार्मिकों तथा वाहनों के ईंधन तथा रखरखाव पर आने वाले खर्च का ब्यौरा भी माँगा था. पीएमओ के अनु सचिव प्रवीण कुमार ने पूरी सूचना देने से मना करते हुए कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री की सुरक्षा तथा सरकारी वाहन के मामले स्पेशल प्रोटेक्शन ग्रुप (एसपीजी) से सम्बंधित हैं जो आरटीआई एक्ट की धारा 24 में आरटीआई से बाहर है.
नूतन ने इसी प्रकार की सूचना राष्ट्रपति सचिवालय से भी मांगी थी. डीसीपी, राष्ट्रपति भवन, नयी दिल्ली ने जीवन तथा शारीरिक सुरक्षा को खतरा होने के आधार पर राष्ट्रपति के साथ लगे सुरक्षाकर्मियों की कुल संख्या तथा उन सुरक्षाकर्मियों के मूवमेंट हेतु लगाए गए गाड़ियों की संख्या देने से मना कर दिया लेकिन यह बताया था कि पिछले 04 साल में राष्ट्रपति के साथ लगे सुरक्षाकर्मियों के सैलरी पर 155.4 करोड़ तथा सुरक्षाकर्मियों के मूवमेंट हेतु लगी गाड़ियों के रखरखाव में रु० 64.9 लाख का व्यय आया है तथा गाड़ियों के लिए ईंधन सरकारी पेट्रोल पम्प से प्राप्त होता है.
