चेयरमैन रेलवे बोर्ड के साथ बोर्ड सदस्यों की हुई वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग बैठक में कोरोना को ध्यान में रखते हुए 15 अप्रैल से रेलों के संचालन के तौर-तरीके पर विचार किया गया। इसमें कई मुद्दों पर सहमति बनी ताकि महामारी को किसी भी रूप में ट्रेन यात्रा के चलते बढ़ने का मौका न मिले।
इसमें एक प्रस्ताव स्लीपर और थर्ड एसी के मिडिल बर्थ किसी को भी अलॉट न करने का है ताकि सोशल डिस्टेंसिंग कायम रखा जा सके। कई अन्य सुझावों पर भी विचार विमर्श किया गया जिसे नीचे दिया जा रहा है। इस पर आखिरी मुहर जल्द लगने की संभावना है।

Today we had a video conference to discuss what we should do after 14th of April . Some of the points highlighted were as under.
1, CRB indicated that the Govt is thinking of dividing the country into 3 zones, red, yellow and green depending on the number of cases. In the red zone no transport services will be introduced, yellow will have restricted services and green will have no restriction in the number of services .
2, In the trains social distancing has to be maintained.
3, No allotment of middle berth in 3T sleeper and AC3T
4, No linen or food on trains till cases start reducing.
5, All scheduled timetabled trains to be cancelled and only special trains to be run.
6, Thermal screening at all entry points.
7, Passengers above 60 not to be allowed to travel.
8, Wearing of masks compulsory. Passengers found not wearing masks to be imposed exemplary fines and detrained.
9, No unreserved travel to be allowed. This is necessary as in case a +ve case is detected a other passengers who travelled by the coach will have to be traced and quarantined.
10, It had indicated that most metro cities except maybe Kolkotta will fall in tbe red zones as per present trends. It will therefore not possible to start or terminate any train from and to Mumbai, Delhi, Secunderabad. Chennai, Banglore. In the circumstances it will be better not to introduce any coaching services till the situation improves and definitely not before 30/04.
11, It had also pointed out that wr should also take into account the fact that many +ve cases are asymptomatic, who do not display any symptoms and therefore cannot be screened.
12, It was suggested that trains if they run should not stop at Hotspots for which the ACP should be disconnected.
13, CRB wanted all GMs to plan the type of special trains which could be run with the originating and terminating stations and the timetable with stops. The plan to be sent to PED chg.
14, It was also instructed by CRB that we should also get in touch with the state government and get their requirements for train running.
15, It was suggested by some Railways that we should run services which are confined within the state boundaries.
All PHODs and DRMs may also ponder over the subject and give their views about when and how train services should be resumed and what precautions should be taken in view of the COVID 19 pandemic.
