Employees of popular Telugu newspaper Eenadu have requested the Hon’;ble Justice Mr. N. V. Ramana to rescue himself from hearing the Contempt Petition filed against contemnors and proprietors of the newspaper Shri Ramoji Rao & Chaudhary Kiron. The case is listed for hearing on 28th April. It may be noted here that the employees have filed Contempt Petition vide no.(C) No. 571/2014 in the Supreme Court. Justice Ramana was on the bench as a puisne judge on the last date of hearing, which was headed by Justice Ranjan Gogoi.
The employees have also sent a request to the Hon’;ble #ChiefJustice of India H.L. Dattu to constitute a bench for hearing the contempt petition, which should not have Hon’;ble Justice N.V. Ramana on it. Justice Ramana is closely related with the proprietors of the Eenadu newspaper, both are Kammas and come from the coastal Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. Shri #Ramoji Rao is also known as the pickle king of India. The employees have circulated three photographs showing Justice Ramana with the family members of Ramoji Rao. Number of news portals has already picked up these photographs and they have already become viral. It appears that Justice Ramana may himself rescue from the case to avoid any controversy.
