SP Sharma appointed J&K Bureau Chief of The Statesman

A senior journalist SP Sharma has been appointed J&K Bureau Chief of The Statesman after working for about 34 years with The Tribune.

Sharma has worked in J&K, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. He has covered terrorism in J&K and also Punjab. Sharma is recepient of “Excellent Journalist State Award” of Himachal Pradesh and J&K Governments.

He belongs to a family of journalists and his father Mr.BP Sharma worked for various national and international newspapers and news agencies. He is known for having set up the Radio Station in Jammu during partition of the country when Pakistani raiders were trying to capture Jammu and Kashmir.
