As per the information provided by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India to Lucknow based activist Dr Nutan Thakur, a total of 308 persons have been provided categorized security by the Central Government.
Nutan had sought the list of persons who have been provided various security covers (like X, Y, Z, Z-plus etc) along with the number of security persons under these security covers and the monthly remunerations given to these security personnel.
SCL Das, Joint Secretary, MHA said that as on date 24 persons have been given Z-plus, 59 have been given Z, 109 have been given Y-plus, 34 have been given Y and 82 persons have been given X category security.
He refused to provide other information under section 8(1)(g) of RTI Act dealing with threat to life and safety along with section 8(1)(j) dealing with personal information and section 24 dealing with exemption from RTI Act.
केंद्र सरकार द्वारा 308 लोगों को श्रेणीगत सुरक्षा… गृह मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार द्वारा लखनऊ स्थित एक्टिविस्ट डॉ नूतन ठाकुर को दी गयी जानकारी के अनुसार केंद्र सरकार द्वारा कुल 308 लोगों को श्रेणीगत सुरक्षा प्रदान किया गया है.
नूतन ने एक्स, वाई, जेड, जेड प्लस आदि श्रेणी के लोगों की सूची, उन्हें दिए जाने वाले सुरक्षाकर्मियों की संख्या तथा उन सुरक्षाकर्मियों पर आने वाले मासिक खर्च के संबंध में जानकारी मांगी थी. संयुक्त सचिव, गृह मंत्रालय एससीएल दास ने बताया कि वर्तमान में 24 लोगों को जेड प्लस, 59 लोगों को जेड, 109 लोगों को वाई प्लस, 34 को वाई तथा 82 को एक्स श्रेणी की सुरक्षा दी गयी है.
उन्होंने अन्य सूचना आरटीआई एक्ट की धारा 8(1)(जी) में जानमाल को खतरा, धारा 8(1)(जे) में व्यक्तिगत जानकारी तथा धारा 24 में आरटीआई एक्ट से छूट के आधार पर देने से मना कर दिया.
