Shri Bhaskar Dube, a seasoned and prominent journalist, who has worked for many newspapers and audio-visual media in senior capacities, has been appointed the Convenor of the ‘U.P. Working Journalists Union’ (UPWJU) with immediate effect. He is presently the Executive Editor of the Hindi and English editions of the News Times Post.
The decision of his appointment has been taken in a meeting of the ‘Indian Federation of Working Journalists’ (IFWJ) held at Bangalore on 18th February 2018. This has been welcomed by the IFWJ Vice-President Hemant Tiwari, Secretary Siddharth Kalhans and Treasurer Rinku Yadav, who hail from Uttar Pradesh and they were also present in the Bangalore meeting held in the office of the ‘Karnataka Union of Working Journalists’ (KUWJ).
Shri Dube will be assisted in organising the ‘U.P. Working Journalists Union’ among others by Shri Utkarsh Sinha, Mohd. Kamran (Lucknow), Sanjay Dwivedi, Chandramauli Mishra (Sonebhadra), O.P. Singh (Jaunpur), Santosh Gupta (Moradabad), Pankaj Mangal (Meerut) and Manoj Kumar Shukla (Mirzapur). He will have free hand in selecting the team of his own in different districts of Uttar Pradesh for revitalizing the UPWJU. It must be underlined that the UPWJU has been lying on the death bed for the last so many years because of the inefficiency, selfishness and inertia of one or two outdated parasites. Unfortunately, they have been holding the organisation to ransom for many years for their own vested interests.
Shri Bhaskar Dube is known for his boldness, clarity of thought, and superb organisational capacity. He is mandated to launch membership drive and prepare the list of the members in all districts of Uttar Pradesh within six months and hold elections for office-bearers and the Executive Committee.
He has been advised to release a white paper on the misdeeds of those who have been responsible for shamelessly eating up crores of rupees and cancellation of the lease hold of the Uttar Pradesh Press Club building as they failed to pay an enormous amount of lease fee to the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA). Shri Dube can be contacted on 9554322000. We send our best wishes to Shri Dube and his team members.
