Nirnimesh Kumar-
The Press Club of India was looking very beautiful and democratic vibrancy was in full throttle over there the other day where journalists had gathered to register their protest over the interrogation of several journos in the News Click news website funding case.
Rather it was a rarest of rare scene over there in the past two decades or so: a man was holding up a placard which read “Chin ke dalalon ko jail bhejo in Hindi (send agents of Chin to jail).
The man was also holding a mic in one of his hands along with the placard with the slogan printed in bold.
From the print of the slogan and the mic, one can presume that he is a journalist but his credentials are unexplained. He is only shouting “Chin se Paisa kyon liya” in Hindi (Why was money taken from China).
But the most important element of this was that no one from the protesting journalists objected to his counter protest opinion.
The lone protester was also registering the protest in a polite and peaceful manner.
The matter is worth taking note of and reporting because the Press Club Management in the recent past has expelled more than half a dozens journalists when they questioned them on financial and administrative irregularities, alleging that they are defaming the club by writing about its controversial and questionable state of affairs on the social media.
The individual protester carried on the protest undisturbed, adding to the India’s traditions of opinions can vie for their acceptance without indulging either in verbal or physical violence.
